Sock Dreams

I am completely obsessed with this online store called Sock Dreams. They are based out of Portland, Oregon and their selection of socks is very impressive. From thigh highs to anklets, you’re going to find something you like. I first found them when I was in search of striped thigh highs and I’m so glad I placed an order. Their socks are durable, thick, and soft. They also carry plus sizes with extra stretch so those with thick thighs (like me) can still achieve a thigh high look comfortably. Also, their customer service is great and they have the fastest free shipping of any online store I’ve ever encountered (orders ship out in less than 24 hours!).

Some of my favorite items include:

Ethereal Arm Warmers

Elizabethan Lace Over the Knees

Super Stripes (Every Emilie Autumn fan NEEDS a pair...or 10)

Lace Trimmed Satin Striped Bustle

Roll-On Body Adhesive (No saggy socks allowed)

Spider Lace Pantyhose (Oh My Goth)

Straps and Studs Arm Warmers

Starry Night Socks (Awww)

Gay Knee Highs...haha

Snappy Geared Up Garters

Harajuku Vitamin Arm Warmers (<3 Japan)

Extraordinarily Longer Thigh Highs

Go get you some goodies!

Off the Clock

This is just a poem I wrote about a year ago for a writing contest. Enjoy!

Off the Clock

Office grind and a big salary

Don’t appeal to me.

Predictability and morning coffee

Just depress me.

Settling on a ready-made blueprint of a life,

Complete with a stepford wife,

Is not a part of my reality.

Freedom from routine and complacency

Is where I want to be.

Imagination and creativity

Will never come second.

Inner truth is always right,

While outside opinions can take flight.

My life is not yours to take

And no life path is the same.

Keep your upgrades and business trips,

I’ll stop and smell the tulips.

The moment is worth more than money can buy

And happiness cannot be penciled in.

A one-size fits all life

Only leads to boredom and strife.

Individuality is the golden key

Unlocking all my possibilities.

I’m Asylum Attendant. I don’t like/connect with my real name, so this is what I go by.

I’ve wanted to start a blog for so long, but I simply never got around to it. Procrastination is such a funny thing. Here you will find a bit of everything. From song lyrics to DIY projects to makeup reviews…I love it all. I fully embrace all that is weird and fantastical. Normalcy is not a part of my world.

Why go by Asylum Attendant?

Ever since I was forced into seeing a psychologist as an angry, hurt teenager, I have been fascinated with psychology and the human mind in general. I naturally delved into psychology in college and I currently work in the mental health field. I’ll be an Asylum Attendant for life.

I really hope to help those who have been rejected and made to feel like freaks by society. I never fit in and I know that many others struggle with that same problem. We don’t have to change who we are in order to be happy in this world. Together we can create our own creepy, beautiful, fucked up realities in which love and freedom are all that matter. You are all welcome in my asylum. I hope you enjoy your stay.
