My Youtube Channel

I’m thrilled to announce the start of my very own Youtube channel! This is actually a birthday present to myself, even though it’s a little late (my birthday was September 16). I’m always telling others to challenge themselves and conquer their fears. It was high time for me to do something I’ve wanted to do for so long. I may realize that making videos is not for me. But, at least I’m giving it a try. This is probably the most personal thing I’ve ever done. I’m really proud of myself. I’m growing as a soul and it’s so rewarding. I hope everyone enjoys the video! I think my dry wit and sass have been conveyed accurately. lol

Not Like The Rest

Not Like The Rest

Tired bodies all around

Resignation abound.

Dreams dissipated long ago,

Leaving a battlefield of woe.

Addictions fill the space,

Plastered on every face.

Connection solely exists

Through technologic mists.

Adventure is forsaken

As the mundane is awakened.

Isolation chisels the air,

But no one even cares.

Television is a sickness,

Flashing frames of sadness.

Absorbing all the drama

Erases years of trauma.

Complaints are the entertainment

Comments loaded with resentment.

Whines murder joy,

Leaving time for toys.

Work is always everywhere

That’s all there really is to share.

Clocking out is fantasy

Some minds just can’t stay free.

I tried to sweep away the gloom,

But I couldn’t grasp the broken broom.

It fell hard to the ground

Creating not a single sound.

Cycles sometimes need to break

For the next generation’s sake.

What seems selfish to one

Keeps another from a gun.

Spooky Pop Tunes

Okay. It might be a bit early for Halloween posts. I just can’t help myself. September means Fall to me and it’s already got me feeling witchy. čśë I love my pop music. I also enjoy fantastical/dark lyrics, themes, and visuals. As such, I’ve compiled a fun list of entrancing songs to enjoy this time of the year. Unleash the ghouls, zombies, and magic.

Katy B – Witches Brew

This song is synth heaven with spellbinding lyrics. “Witches Brew” is about using witchcraft to make another person fall in love with you. I always thought it would be fun to be a witch. Tying up guys and dancing in rainy graveyards come with the territory according to Katy B.

The Green Children – Dragons

Milla and Marlow of┬áThe Green Children are super talented. Their music is electro-pop full of magic and fantasy. The pair took their band name from an old English legend about a brother and sister with green skin who mysteriously appeared in the village of Woolpit. The video for “Dragons” is much like a forest fairy tale. Sincerity and innocence emanate from this duo’s music. Milla and Marlow are also very involved with philanthropy. “Black Magic” is another of their more fantastical songs.

Fefe Dobson – Ghost

I like the song “Ghost” better than the video. It’s a cute concept: You can break up with the girl, but that doesn’t mean she won’t still haunt you. I want to learn how to hang from the ceiling…

Natalia Kills – Zombie

Old horror movie vibes, anyone? Natalia is a great actress and I love how all of her videos look like mini films. The distorted, robotic vocals create an uneasy atmosphere. This video was the beginning of Natalia’s “dark pop” music genre. By the way, Natalia just released her new album Trouble and it’s spectacular. So proud of her!

Blood On The Dance Floor – Bewitched

Blood On The Dance Floor seem to get a lot of hate and I guess I can see why. Some of their music can be really offensive and distasteful, but I enjoy that. I’m pretty sure the fans are in on the joke. It’s not like people are getting massive amounts of inspiration from this band. They’re just fun to listen to. I like their unique visuals and I think Jayy is handsome.

Katy Perry – E.T.

Minus Kanye West (ugh), “E.T.” is wonderful. The lyrics are spot on and the instrumentation is futuristic to fit the theme. The song sounds like it could belong to the Russian duo t.A.T.u. It’s very different from anything else Katy’s ever done, but I appreciate her creative risk. The video is stunning and way rad. There’s proof that even aliens can find love. čÖé

Get a little spooky everybody!
