Outfit of the Day: Cute Creeper

9

I decided to film an OOTD (or Outfit of the Day) video this past weekend. I actually took the time to put a cool outfit together and I wanted to share. This post was supposed to go up over the weekend, but my seven year old laptop finally died. 😦 It’s completely understandable, since it was so old. That’s the only computer I’ve personally owned. Many memories with that thing. And my whole life was on it. Alas, fresh starts are always good. It’s difficult to edit videos when your computer moves at dinosaur speed and things keep crashing. Looking forward to getting a new laptop soon! Until then, I’ll just have to use my work laptop. I don’t actually have any work to do, but that’s a story for another day.

I hope you guys enjoy the video!

OOTN: Bubblegoth Baller

4

This past Friday night was bananas! Bowling, late x-mas gifts, car break-downs, LOTS of shots, and hot guys sitting in my lap/grabbing my ass…say what? lol You know I was looking next level, so I figured I would do an Outfit of the Night! These photos were taken at 4am…my apologies if I look a bit busted in the face. XD

Image

I was going for a creepy cute Bubblegoth look. Dark, but playful at the same time. Pink and black is one of my favorite color combos.

Image

The sweatshirt and necklace are both from my Dolls Kill haul. Paired together, they are the perfect mix of light and dark, the ultimate goal of Bubblegoth. Unicorns make me happy and I feel childlike wearing that necklace.

ImageSpike ring is from Hot Topic. I’m always wearing spikes. Partially because they look rad, partially for protection. They are sharp as fuck. 🙂 Eyeball bracelet is also from Dolls Kill. I see all.

Pants

Pants from Hot Topic. Houndstooth is rad. I love the zippers all over these, too.

Shoes 1Shoes 2

Bubblegum pink creepers are from T.U.K. shoes. Their online store has badass creepers in every color you can think of. The pink ones were just calling my name. I honestly want to just live in these shoes at all times.

I was originally going to film this OOTN, but I’m perpetually running late, so that didn’t happen. 😛 The funeral home down the street from my house is the perfect backdrop. I’m such a creep. Anyways, I enjoyed putting this look together. Hope everybody likes it, too! Random photo time!

Dolls Kill Haul

If you aren’t familiar with the online clothing boutique Dolls Kill, then you should get acquainted. Edgy and original, Dolls Kill is for all you fashion rebels out there. They carry some of my favorite brands, including UNIF, Tripp NYC, and Lip Service. Dolls Kill sells cute stuff and some pretty dark shit, too, which I obvi love. Creepy cute is the ultimate look I’m trying to achieve. 😉 This is sort of a Pastel Goth haul, since I’m really into that style right now. Let’s see what I got!

Stay Dark Pentagram Sweatshirt

Image

I love the saying on this sweatshirt. ‘Staying dark’ is a mantra I try to live by. Let’s see how many ignorant people freak out when they see the pentagram. haha I already know who I’m wearing this one around.

Unicorn Playdate Necklace

How could I resist? I’m a unicorn, after all.

Beetlejuice Garter Leggings

Image

I love leggings, stripes, and Beetlejuice. So the combo really excites me. Such sassy cutouts. I can’t wait to wear these to the club…or the grocery store.

Eyeball Bracelet

Eyeball accessories are so Pastel Goth from what I’ve seen. Yes please.

UNIF Prayer Choker

UNIF Prayer Choker

This choker is probably my favorite item from my haul. 90’s nostalgia, anyone? It’s just so me. Pink and sparkly with hearts, but dangerous with some spikes thrown in. Sadly, it doesn’t fit! I guess I have a large neck…oops. I can’t help that. lol One size fits all items can be misleading. Should I keep this badass piece? I could attach an extender and DIY the choker to fit. It was quite expensive and I’m already in love with it.

And that’s it for my Dolls Kill Haul! There were other really awesome items I wanted, but I’m not a rich bitch. That’s my only negative critique of Dolls Kill: their stuff is damn expensive. Worth it, but sometimes I’d rather make something myself or just buy a knockoff. Who cares about wearing only designer brands? So lame.

Now I must eagerly await my T.U.K. bubblegum pink and black creepers to come in the mail. They are the epitome of Bubblegoth! 😀 I’m going to do an Outfit of the Day with those babies soon. They’ll be here just in time for Spring. You can melt anytime snow. I’m ready to show some skin. 😉

BubbleGoth

6

I have loved all things Goth for years. I think I was drawn to the Gothic subculture because it’s so unique and beautiful. Naturally, I started incorporating elements of Goth fashion into my own wardrobe. People took notice and began asking if I was Goth. My response: Not quite a Goth. I’m a BubbleGoth. That response usually gets a laugh and a puzzled expression. BubbleGoth is definitely new and not very well-known. I understand why people would be curious to learn more about it. So, let’s jump into the world of gas-masked teddy bears and pastel-colored bats!

BubbleGoth was created a couple of years ago by singer/songwriter Kerli. Many people started to call her Goth after her first album came out due to its dark lyrics and spooky visuals. Trying to be offensive, one critic called her Bubblegum Goth. Kerli thought that was genius and explained her perfectly. BubbleGoth was born! According to Kerli, it is all about making dark things beautiful and beautiful things dark. Bubble is the sweet and innocent side while Goth is twisted and dark. Pairing a white wedding dress with combat boots would fall under BubbleGoth. You take polar opposites and blend them together to create something magical. It’s a total contradiction, but BubbleGoth isn’t meant to be taken super seriously. It’s all about having fun with fashion and individuality is key.

Cybergoth seems to have a huge influence on BubbleGoth. Gas masks, neon colors, and dreadlocks are all a part of both fashion styles. BubbleGoth isn’t as harsh looking, though. Rave fashion is also included in BubbleGoth. We love kandi bracelets and furry boots. Of course, we have to Goth it up. Ravers are a bit too colorful for BubbleGoth.

BubbleGoth

BubbleGoth highly values creativity and originality. We make a lot of the stuff we wear ourselves because you can’t find it in a store. For instance, I took a pair of black leather boots and glued rhinestones, bows, and lace to them for a cute touch. It would seem like those things wouldn’t go together, but they turned out really pretty. I also did a BubbleGoth ring tutorial not that long ago which I will link here. Why spend a lot of money on designer clothes when you can make a totally unique piece for super cheap? DIY projects are a huge part of BubbleGoth and everyone’s ideas are welcome.

I have heard that some are offended by BubbleGoth and Pastel Goth, which is sort of similar to BubbleGoth, but it involves pastel colors mixed with Goth elements. I’m certainly not trying to offend anyone by the way that I dress. I completely adore and respect the Gothic subculture. BubbleGoth is not a movement to make fun of Goth. We simply twist Goth fashion in a playful way. Everyone should dress the way they want and keep an open mind when it comes to personal style.

I would kill for those pink spiky flats! Definitely BubbleGoth. Anyways, I hope I have thoroughly explained BubbleGoth and shown how enjoyable it can be. I used to despise labels, but I gladly refer to myself as a BubbleGoth. We’ll keep on decapitating teddy bears everywhere. 😉
